Course overview

This intermediate course helps disability support workers build warm, respectful relationships while maintaining clear professional boundaries.

It covers working appropriately inside a participant’s home, friendly relationships versus personal friendships, emotional boundaries, personal disclosure, gifts, money, private favours, social media, personal contact, confidentiality, conflicts of interest and dual relationships. Workers also learn to recognise boundary drift, respond without blaming the participant, document concerns objectively and seek supervision before problems escalate.
