Empowering Meaningful Participation Through Everyday Support

About this course

This course has been designed to help Support Workers develop practical skills that encourage independence, participation, and meaningful engagement for people with disability.

Every interaction presents an opportunity to support a person to build confidence, make choices, strengthen relationships, and take an active role in their own life. This course introduces practical approaches that help workers move beyond simply providing care and towards creating opportunities for genuine involvement in daily activities and decision making.

Through realistic examples and workplace scenarios, participants will learn how to identify opportunities for engagement, adapt support to individual needs, and encourage participation in ways that promote dignity, choice, inclusion, and personal achievement.

The course focuses on creating supportive environments where people can contribute to everyday tasks, develop new skills, connect with others, and exercise greater control over their lives at home and within their communities.

Interactive learning activities, reflective exercises, and knowledge checks are incorporated throughout the course to support understanding and encourage the practical application of skills within everyday support settings.
